Hello and welcome to Turnagain CrossFit Alaska (TCFAK)!
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to consider our gym and community as a place where you might begin—or continue—your fitness journey. We are honored by your interest and excited to introduce ourselves.
So, who is the “we” mentioned above? We’re Caitlin and Eyzik, the new owners of TCFAK as of May 1, 2026. Owning a CrossFit gym was always something we talked about as a distant dream—something we imagined pursuing in retirement. As it turns out, that opportunity arrived much sooner than we ever expected, and we couldn’t be more grateful for it.
A little about Eyzik: “I grew up in a military family and moved frequently throughout my childhood. Eventually, I landed in Fairbanks, Alaska, where I met my favorite person in the world—Caitlin. After getting married, we relocated to the Olympia, Washington area, where I pursued a career in law enforcement, and tried CrossFit for the first time. We spent several years there, but it became clear that Alaska was the only place we truly wanted to call home. So, once again, we packed up and made the journey north, returning to Alaska and putting down roots in the Southcentral area. I have become deeply involved in the CrossFit community throughout the Anchorage and Mat-Su areas, whether through attending classes, competing, or participating in local events.”
A little about Caitlin: “I grew up in North Pole, Alaska, where I attended elementary, middle, and high school before earning my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) in 2016. During my final year of college, I began working for UAF and continued my career in higher education, later working at a small university in Washington during our time there and then at University of Alaska Anchorage. I remained at UAA until the birth of our first child in 2020. My professional background is rooted in administration, organization, and supporting the success of those around me. I’m excited to bring those skills and experiences to TCFAK as we continue building a strong, welcoming, and supportive community for our members!”
Community has always been important to us, and we are passionate about finding ways to give back whenever possible. Our goal is to use TCFAK as a place that promotes health, wellness, and meaningful connections throughout the Anchorage area. We are incredibly excited about the road ahead and hope that TCFAK becomes a community that you’ll be proud to be part of for years to come.
CrossFit is for every body.
Founded in 2001, CrossFit is a fitness methodology designed to help people achieve a wide range of goals—from improving overall health and wellness to enhancing athletic performance. At its core, CrossFit is for everyone, welcoming individuals of all ages, fitness levels, abilities, and backgrounds. Workouts can be scaled and adapted to meet each person where they are, making them both accessible and effective.
Beyond fitness, CrossFit fosters meaningful connections and a strong sense of community. At TCFAK, we are committed to building an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and connected. This sense of belonging is especially valuable in Alaska, where strong communities help us thrive and endure the unique challenges that come with life in the Last Frontier.
Merging with a Legend
In 2023, Turnagain CrossFit was honored to merge with the legendary CrossFit Alaska (CFAK), one of Alaska’s most respected and influential CrossFit communities. Founded in 2008, CFAK was the first CrossFit affiliate in Alaska and among the first 300 CrossFit affiliates worldwide. Turnagain CrossFit, founded in 2015, is proud to carry forward this remarkable legacy of constantly varied, functional fitness and community.
The opportunity to steward and continue the traditions built by those who came before us is one we do not take lightly. We are deeply humbled to be entrusted with this legacy and committed to honoring the foundation that has made this community so special.
